What percent of men’s and women’s college golf programs compete in NCAA Division I?
09/03/2010

There are thousands of open positions on men's and women's college golf teams each year, but most are not in NCAA Division I, the highest competitive level.  Of the 1,239 men’s teams, only 291 (23%) are NCAA D-I, compared with 30% of women's teams (243 are D-I from a total of 818).
Most of these men’s and women’s golf teams offer some form of golf scholarship, however NCAA Division III institutions do now allow athletic scholarships.
Here is a breakdown of golf teams by division.  For more details on each program, subscribe to one of the online PING Guide programs on this website.
