Coach Cindy Corn (since 1999) has been named NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) Region Coach of the Year five times. She played college golf at University of Alabama-Birmingham (1985-88).
Assistant coaches are Craig Zinzilieta, PGA and Mary O'Neal, LPGA.
Rend Lake College claimed fifth at the 2010 NJCAA Championship at LPGA International Golf Course in Daytona Beach, Fla. Daytona Beach won the championship, beating runner-up McLennan by 60 strokes. The tournament was delayed one day due to rain. The course is par-72, measuring 6,154 yards. The average 18-hole score was 91.5 strokes. A total of 19 teams and 120 players competed in the NJCAAs.
Low placewinner for the Lady Warriors was Jessica Pigati, who tied for 18th (76-78-85=239). Taylor Landers finished 22nd (82-82-78=242).
The Rend Lake College Lady Warriors finished runner-up to champion John A. Logan Community College at the 2010 NJCAA Region 24 Tournament at Franklin County Country Club in West Frankfort, Ill. All five Lady Warriors finished in the top-10, securing spots four through eight. Taylor Landers (86-83=169) led the team, claiming fourth place. Megan Gindling (87-84=171) took fifth.
The Lady Warriors finished fifth at the rain-shortened 2009 NJCAA National Championship., and seventh at the 2008 NJCAA National Championship.
Corn received her bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama-Birmingham and her master's from Southern Illinois University. |
