Coach Sean Covich (since 2006) is also sports information director for Meridian Community College. He played for the Meridian CC golf team (1998-2000).
Meridian CC held off Indian Hills to finish second at the 2010 NJCAA D-I National Championship at Hampton Cove/River in Huntsville, Ala. McLennan beat Meridian by nine strokes in the 54-hole tournament. The tourney was scheduled as a 72-hole event, but the final round was cancelled by officials because of severe thunderstorms. A total of 22 teams and 115 players competed in the tournament. The average 18-hole individual score was 76.8. The course was par-72, measuring 7,192 yards.
The Eagles individual highlight was the medalist performance of Brandt Garon, who shot a 5-under par 211 (71-72-68) to win the tournament by two strokes. Garon trailed by three shots heading into the third round, when he fired a tourney-tying best 68. Garrett Westbrook tied for 14th (72-73-73=218), while Cory Williamson tied for 16th (71-71-77=219).
Garon earned a first-team berth on the NJCAA All-American team. Westbrook was an honorable mention selection.

Central Alabama beat the Eagles by 11 strokes in the 11-school, 54-hole tournament. The course was par-71, measuring 6,785 yards. The average 18-hole score was 75.6 strokes, though the average score during the opening round was 77.1, and 73.9 during the final round.
Low scorer for Meridian was Cory Williamson, who tied for fourth (74-68-70=212). Brandt Garon tied for seventh (77-69-68=214), and Clemens Dvorak tied for 11th ((72-72-73=217).
The Eagles finished sixth at the 2009 NJCAA D-I Men's National, while finishing third at the D-I District 5 Championship.
Meridian CC finished in the top-ten at the NJCAA D-II National Championship eight times between 1998 and 2008. They moved from NJCAA D-II to D-I beginning 2008-09.
Covich was named NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) Region 23 Coach of the Year in 2007. He was also named MACJC (Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges) Coach of the Year in 2007.
Covich received his B.S. (sports communication) and M.S. (sports administration) from Mississippi State University.
